What was the brief?

The developer specified stretch ceilings in every stairwell of the complex. Deadlines were tight: we couldn't hold up the other trades or the finishing work.

What was difficult?

The area by the lifts called for drilling into a granite slab, which means great precision and a properly prepared substrate.

The ceiling had many external corners and was fitted on a shadow gap profile. The shadow line only comes out straight when the cutting is perfect and the membrane is tensioned without the slightest crease.

What did we do?

We chose a black TEQTUM high-gloss membrane with an enhanced fire classification: it's right for common areas and stands up to heavy use.

We used cordless tools and mobile scaffold towers to move quickly between the stairwells. The membrane was tensioned around the full perimeter, and the shadow gap lines came out clean and straight.

How long did installation take?

One day. Thanks to the way the work was organised, we finished ahead of schedule.

What is the result?

The stairwells look elegant and light: the black gloss brings out the architecture of the entrances, and the shadow gap profile makes the ceiling appear to float above the wall. The client appreciated the pace and precision of the installation.

Which material?

TEQTUM Glossy Black: black high-gloss membrane with an enhanced fire classification, for common areas.

Would you like a ceiling like this?

Send us photos or a floor plan. We'll assess the height, lighting and services, then arrange a site survey.
