What was the brief?
In the showroom's meeting area, reverberation made it hard to talk to customers and present the collection. The client wanted better acoustics without losing the elegant look of the interior.
What was difficult?
The space above the ceiling was full of services: ducted ventilation, 48 V magnetic tracks, platforms for a large number of lamps.
The client wanted the effect of a floating profile with linear backlighting, while the whole surface had to stay perfectly flat and uniform, with no seams.
What did we do?
We used CLIPSO acoustic fabric in matte white. It improves acoustic comfort and visually tidies the space.
We designed the ceiling structure to hide the ducts and tracks. We tensioned the membrane in one piece, with a straight 90° fold and carefully finished external corners. The suspended backlit profile brings out the geometry of the meeting area.
How long did installation take?
The main part of the installation took four days. On the fifth day we installed sixteen lamps from the client's new collection.
What is the result?
The reverberation is gone and the room has become quiet. The meeting area gained a lighting accent, and the smooth ceiling surface shows off the quality of the finish. The client is planning a similar ceiling in the next part of the showroom.
